District 8 80's 5K Race Description

 
Register now for the 2018 District 8 80s 5K.
Saturday, June 23
Join us on June 23rd for the third Fit Family Challenge event of the summer presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Texas.  All participants have the option to run or walk, timed (1000 chip timed bibs available), or untimed.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 7:30 am and the race will begin at 8:00 am.
 
AS OF 6/10/18 ALL CHIPPED BIBS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED, HOWEVER WE WILL HAVE 150 MORE AT PACKET PICK UP.  
OFTENTIMES, RUNNERS REGISTER FOR A CHIP TIMED BIB AND DO NOT ATTEND, WE WILL REASSIGN BIBS ON RACE MORNING BEGINNING AT 7:45 AM
 
NOTE:  IF YOU REGISTERED FOR A CHIP TIMED BIB, PLEASE PICK IT UP BEFORE 7:45 AM ON RACE DAY
 
 
 
Finishers medals will be provided to the first 500 to cross the finish line and a limited number of event t-shirts will be distributed on a first come, first served basis at packet pick up.

Great Race a lot of Cheaters

The race was fun as always, the course was closer to 3.5 rather then 3.1, and there were a lot of people cheater and cutting corners, I came in the top 500 for a medal but didn't get one becauses the CHEATERS cut corners! It's all good though had a lot of fun.

District 8 5k

Very nice course & area - a few simple tweaks could get it down to exactly 5k distance. Convenient parking. Lots of police on course. Announcer did NOT encourage runners to front and walkers to back at starting line. Scramble of runners getting around walkers who crowd front at start - made trickier by initial downhill portion - luckily I didn't see anyone fall. Insufficient qty portable restrooms. Nice event - will definitely do it again!

80s 5k at utsa

Terrible signage to find race start and parking,,and volunteers gave wrong directions, as did police. Hard to find on line. Race itself was good, helpful and friendly people on site. Well organized and lors of parking. Good course.
